I didn’t know I am an activist until ICE came to my hometown. And in writing these stories I have learned that my activism is about FIERCE LOVE. I must find ways to put LOVE first, no matter what, in all ways.

I'm taking notes on pronociation because I am about to apply for a job in Duluth that is a pretty good fit for my background. No idea what my chances are but it's worth a shot.
I might ask for suggestions for good cold weather clothes if I get the job. Coming from California, the wardrobe needs are entirely different in Minnesota than here.
a down filled parka, one that goes below the butt, or better yet down to the knees. North Face is a good brand. If you have a higher budget, go with Canada Goose. when you purchase a parka, check the cold weather ratings. You'll want one rated for -10 or -20 for Duluth.
you'll also want a good pair of winter boots. Sorel is a good brand. Don't go for fashion. go for warmth. The kind that have the "duck feet" that are waterproof over the toes with a heavy wool lining are good. and you'll wants something that goes above the ankles, not just to the ankles (snow gets in them at ankle level, especially when shoveling).
wool. especially alpaca is best for hats and mittens. mittens are good cuz the body heat of fingers being together is warmer.
this is me affirming that you get the job and you'll need all this advice sooner than later. Summer is a good time to buy discount winter weather wear online.
btw - I purchased a NorthFace puffy jacket in 2003 and I still have it and still wear it. if you buy quality, it lasts. I got a Canada Goose parka last winter on FB Marketplace for half retail cost and I'm sure it will last me another 20 years (as long as I don't get fat and don't fit into it).
